Map
Underwood Park's lagoon and boardwalk is a place of tranquility and loveliness. It is especially beautiful at sunrise or sunset when golden light filters through the paperbarks and shimmers on the lagoons surface. An ideal place for a solitary contemplative walk, or equally good for a walk and chat with a friend, or even a discovery walk with kids.

The lagoon boardwalk loop is about 400m, or a 10 minute extremely leisurely stroll. It is suitable for prams, wheelchairs, bicycles and scooters. The boardwalk loops around and through the wetlands and incorporates 2 viewing platforms and seating, enabling you to stop and be immersed in the moment.

Located at the eastern end of Underwood Road in Rochedale South, the area is a haven for local wildlife. There are half a dozen different species of ducks and consequently there is duck poo galore, so look carefully before you sit down - you have been warned! Beware of snakes - I've encountered a 3 meter carpet snake sunning itself of the path.

In 2018/2019 Logan City Council has been upgrading facilities at the Underwood Park presinct. A contemplative maze has been added along with a community garden and additional exploratory play areas for adventurous children.

Within the Underwood Park precinct, which is huge, there are so many other activities available. BMX track, skate bowl, Funderwood hollow playground, sport fields, netball courts, free gas and wood BBQ facilities, mountain bike riding, weekly parkrun and numerous other exercise groups, pergola and lagoon area which is often used for weddings, an off leash dog enclosure and some of the best trees for climbing.

A few hundred meters further up Underwood Road is the Chung Tian Buddhist Temple, and where the road ends is pedestrian access to Daisy Hill State Forest. See the separate page on Daisy Hill State Forest for information on all the beautiful bushwalks available there.
